Recitations and Performances

As the project develops, we will post examples of recitations, performances and recitations of Kampaṉ's Rāmāyaṇa.

Here is a brief musical performance of a verse in viruttam-style by Shiv Subramaniam, one of the project's translators. The verse is from Bāla Kāṇḍam, Verse 12.

Here is a recitation from the opening chapter of the Sundara Kāṇḍam by Sri Bhakatavatsalam. The recitation is preceded by later panegyric verses to the poet Kampaṉ that are not part of his Rāmāyaṇa. The recitation begins at the 3:18 mark.

Here is an excerpt of a shadow puppet performance of the Rāmāyaṇa from Kerala. This is based on the Rāmāyaṇa of Kampaṉ.
